Who are the volunteers...

The following people have volunteered their time to make the Lovettsville Park Patrol a success. All are members of Tri-State Riding Club, Loudoun Horse Association and/or United States Trailride. We recognize and thank them for their generous support:

The following requirements have been established for participation in the Patrol:

  1. You must be a Park Patrol Participant in order to patrol the property.
  2. You must be a current member of either Loudoun Horse Association, USTR and/or Tri-State to become a Park Patrol Participant.
  3. You must complete a volunteer registration form and receive a copy of the Scope of Support before participating in any patrols. The volunteer form is in triplicate, please mail the white copy to Mary Terpak at P.O. Box 198, Lovettsville 20180. The remaining two copies should be given to the patrol leader who will then turn those copies in to the community center. Extra copies of the volunteer forms are available at the Community Center.  
  4. You must wear an orange identification vest while on the grounds. 
  5. You may not confront anyone while on the grounds, your purpose is to observe and report.
  6. Patrols will be limited to no more than 4 horseback riders.
  7. Each patrol must consist of at least 1 Park Patrol Leader and 1 other Park Patrol member (see Calendar page for instructions on signing up to lead or join a Patrol).
  8. Patrolling will only be allowed during daylight hours.
  9. Each patrol must have at least one participant with a cellphone while on the grounds. 
  10. After the patrol is complete, any and all evidence of the patrol/visit must be removed from the grounds.
  11. All patrols must be organized and aproved through the official Park Patrol website.

Additionally, the Park Patrol Leader is responsible for:

  1. The acts of everyone in the patrol.
  2. Making sure that everyone has signed the volunteer registration form and has received a copy of the Scope of Support.
  3. Making sure that all participants follow the Park Patrol Etiquette.
  4. Opening and closing of any and all gates and locks on the property.
  5. Completing the Patrol Report.
  6. Canceling and contacting the patrol in case of inclement weather or bad footing.
